about

The second installment of the Left Coast Sampler series delivers cool fire from the Pacific Northwest yet again. Featuring some of 2010's most promising producers, this compilation is poised to make a sonic and cerebral impact on the musical landscape of the future. Spanning dub techno to glitch hop and beyond, these four original tracks will extend your summer and usher these up-and-coming producers onto your permanent radar.

Climb into outer space on Cyanwave's Vacant Stairway, a sexy, dub techno tune. Justin Byrnes & Keith Kelley, who first made waves with their clean and tight production on releases from blossoming techno label From 0-1, are back with this spacious thumper that reverberates with expansive warmth.

Electro acid breaks merge with tech funk for this madcap venture in Financial Markets from Norse Rarebit. Bob Hansen, best known as one half of Jacob London, extorts maximum sound from this energetic dance floor destroyer, balancing the assets of skyrocketing classic acid with plunging techno bleeps.

Fall through Graintable's Trap Door and discover a blissful melody frolicking with a funky mid-tempo groove. With productions this effervescent and lush, it's no wonder Jim Cooke's unique sound and unmistakable talent bubbled to the top of this year's best emerging producers after placing second in the 2010 NW Regional Laptop Battle.

With production parallels to experimental electronica gurus like The Flashbulb and Wisp, Potatofinger (Eli Hetrick) cuts a distinctive path with this boundary-pushing and heady staple of the sunrise set that captures the essence of the most epic of life's adventures. We Can See It Coming features an emotive melody that takes flight through a dense percussive forest, balancing the expansive and orchestral with the explosive and dynamic.
